What's the best gun in COD 4?

My vote goes for the M4, but the MP5 is definitely my second favorite gun.

EDIT: Poll updated with AK-47.

I like the M4 cuz its shoots a full clip w/ little recoil, but it has no power compared to the AK or M16.

I say M4 for hardcore, G3 also

I can't believe I STILL haven't gotten the gold AK, but it's cool cuz I don't really try for it anyway. I will soon, though...

M4 is pretty good, but I think the G3 with a silencer is the best.
Great blend of power and accuracy, but takes some skill to use a
semi-auto weapon. Best Sniper is M21 in hardcore without a doubt!
Semi-auto, no recoil, and is powerful enough in hardcore.

Problem with the M21 is that all the n00bs use it because it's semi-auto with minimal recoil so even if they miss, they just spray and pray basically. That's why I prefer the old school R700, not to mention it's slightly more accurate and does more damage.

Yeah, I hardly ever use a sniper rifle that I didn't just pick up off the ground. You prefer the R700 to M4AO3 in hardcore or just regular game modes? Why is that? Isn't it most accurate of all and 1 shot 1 kill in hardcore? Never used R700 much so I am curious.

I always play hardcore, so take that into account.

Accuracy: 9+ / 12
Damage: 9+ / 12
Range: 12 / 12
Fire Rate: 2+ / 12
Mobility: 8 / 12
Clip Size/Reserve Ammo: 5/15
Recoil: moderate/high random

Weapon: Remington R700
Accuracy: 8+ / 12
Damage: 11 / 12
Range: 12 / 12
Fire Rate: 2+ / 12
Mobility: 8 / 12
Clip Size/Reserve Ammo: 4/12
Recoil: very high upper right

As you can see, they're pretty evenly matched since the M4A03 is actually based off of the R700 in real life, but the Marines sacrificed bullet damage for accuracy. I'm pretty damn accurate, so I'll take the one with more damage for those times when someone's trying to hide behind walls and whatnot. All in all, though, they're practically even in a hardcore setting.

AK-47 = Best Assault Rifle
MP5 = Best Submachine Gun
M60withACOG - Best Machine Gun
R700 = Best Sniper Rifle
Semi Auto Shotty = Best Shotgun

But I will kill you myself for using a machine gun!

My vote has to go to the M4. It's a friggin' sweet-ass gun in hardcore TD's.

The G3 kills the quickest, bottom line. Machine guns should not even be attempted in hardcore, waaaaaay to slow of a draw. Also dont forget about the M16. It takes skill to get used to (like the G3) but it kills instantaneously. The M4 is a good all around Hardcore mode weapon.
